Last Monday, I wrote that it is not about what you know but what you do with what you know.

In order to be able to apply knowledge, you obviously still need to have knowledge. And, maybe even more important, we cannot keep our input constant and expect a higher output. If we want to grow, and want to turn out better work, we need to be always looking for new stuff to learn. A prerequisite for learning new things is to be open minded.

So, in order to grow we need to

  • have the desire to grow (obvious, but still)
  • have an open mind for new ideas that do not necessarily resonate with what we think right now
  • keep running into new thoughts and concepts
