2 pizza rule
The 2 pizza rule basically says that in order to run effective teams and meetings, they should not be larger than two pizza’s can feed (5-7 people).
Why?
- There are very few things that benefit from a larger quantity forever. Especially meetings: the more people there are, the less productive most meetings will be.
- In larger teams, individuals won’t work as hard because there are more teammates to pick up the slack.
- Communication gets exponentially more difficult with each new team member, so smaller teams need less communication to keep on track, which means more time for actual work.
- It’s a good thing to involve pizza in everything anyway, because pizza.
So, keep your meetings and teams small to get more stuff done.
