Public speaking: strong beginning and ending
There are two very important parts of any talk: the beginning and the ending.
The beginning is important because, if you want it or not, in the first couple of seconds people are trying to get a sense of how interesting you’re going to be. If you start with something they don’t expect, there is a much higher chance of them mentally sticking around.
The ending is important, because your last couple of sentences are probably the things that they will remind the best. So try to come up with something that is practical, funny or triggers some kind of emotion.
