Just like all the other posts, I’m primarily writing this as a note to myself: remember that you’re wired to be constantly looking for confirmation on the things you already believe in. This is a major flaw in our thinking. I read somewhere that your brain does this to preserve energy: it’s always looking for the easy way out.

Thinking about and playing with ideas you’re not subscribed to is hard and difficult. That’s why most people cannot handle it.

A couple of examples:

  • Reading about a topic you’re not interested in
  • Watching a movie or series in a genre you’re not usually watching
  • Talking to people you don’t know
  • Thinking about things you don’t agree with

The goal is not to change your mind about something (that might happen though), but the goal is to snap out of your comfortable circle of like-minded people and think new thoughts.
