Henrik replied on one of the previous posts about effectiveness over process with a comment about the Agile Manifesto, which was fitting. He also mentioned GyShiDo, which I didn’t know, but I really like. It is basically a Productivity Manifesto, with these seven items:

  1. Relentless focus
  2. Single task
  3. Boring consistency
  4. No bullshit
  5. No meetings
  6. Follow up
  7. Don’t be an asshole

Read up on their page for more detail on each item. I especially like the 6th one: “follow up”. Only if you never interact with others and live on a deserted island or on a different planet this is something you can neglect. In all other cases the skill to effectively communicate about your part of the work is absolutely essential to “getting your shit done”.
