Feedback from people around you is probably the most valuable tool to grow. However, no one is doing this nearly enough. It is scary, you’re busy or you’re just forgetting it: there are thousands of reasons not to bother getting more feedback.
I’m experimenting with a new form which is really short and snappy: every couple of weeks I’m emailing a couple of people around me to name one thing I can improve. No long forms, no awkward conversations, just a short email with one question.
Make your feedback loop short, there is so much to learn. Just pick one or two people and ask them if they know one thing you can improve on today.
