Wim sent me this article a while ago (thanks!). The gist:

Your brain works during the night. Make use of this by “asking” it to think about a specific problem while you are sleeping and use the first 10 minutes of your day focussing on output instead of input.

Two thoughts:

  • Personally, I have bad experiences with prewiring my brain before I’m going to sleep. I get so excited that I can’t sleep, because I’m thinking about the tough questions I just asked myself. I’m not sure if this strategy is good for you in the long run.
  • I really like the “output” vs “input” mindset in the morning: what is the first thing you are doing? Consuming all the input from your phone and email? I know I’m focussing on input way too much.

What is your experience with this method?
