Yesterday and today, we’re having brainstorm sessions with all teams on our OKR’s. We use this system to make sure we are all aligned on our big goals as a company. Right now, we’re working on getting our objectives for this quarter finalized.
If there is one thing I’ve learned from this again, is how important it is to make these kind of plans together with everyone. When your company (or team) grows, it is super easy to make your decisions without involving anyone or just a small group. Sure, you need to set a clear focus, but getting everyone together to make the real plans is not only good for the team, the plans will be better too.
Also: if you’re working in a company and you don’t have a structured way of setting targets or goals for what you’re actually doing, take a good look at OKR’s. It might be a good fit.
